The Wedding Video

I feel like this blog has been overrun by wedding video segments, but this should be the last post on that subject. The DVDs were delivered last night and I’m pleased to present all four segments here for your viewing pleasure.

The video was created by “Pinnacle Weddings”:http://www.pinnacleweddings.com. If you’re getting married in the Salt Lake area you should definitely take advantage of their services. They’ve been absolutely amazing to work with and I think the finished product speaks for itself.

43 Things

I think I’m officially addicted to memes.

I just found this great site called 43 Things. It’s another of those social sites like del.icio.us and Flickr. At 43 Things you list your long- and short-term goals and then track your own progress. You can also find other people who are working toward the same goals and enlist or offer help.

A while back I started compiling a list of 100 life goals. Last night I copied some things from that list onto 43 Things. Some of my goals are fanciful, but many are serious things I’d like to acheive.

Now to find a place to display “my 43 Things list”:http://www.43things.com/people/view/joeyday here on my blog…

Ab’s Drive-in

Janene and I had dinner last night at one of our favorite places, “Ab’s Drive-in”:http://local.google.com/local?q=abs+drive+in&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&safe=off&sa=G&near=84119&rl=1&sc=1&radius=0&latlng=40690977,-111952964,17784051337607135689. I would recommend Ab’s to anyone with a stomach, and, no, I haven’t been paid to say that.

Ab’s signature meal is a Fat Boy burger with fries. Their burgers are excellent, but the fries are really where Ab’s shines. They leave the skin on the potatoes, giving them a homestyle taste, and their fry sauce simply has no equal. They use some secret ingredient to give the sauce a more glazed look and an amazing flavor.

If you live anywhere near Salt Lake City, you really should swing by Ab’s sometime. You won’t regret it. If you’re in the mood for some company, Janene and I would love to go with you. We’ve been talking about inviting friends for a while and just haven’t got around to it.

Google Maps — Now With Satellite

Holy cow! It’s late and I should go to bed, but the “Google Blog just announced”:http://www.google.com/googleblog/2005/04/birds-eye-view.html that “Google Maps”:http://maps.google.com now has the ability to display satellite images in the same slick interface as it already delivers maps. Now you can have driving directions superimposed over actual images of the streets in your hometown.

In my mind, Google Maps already blew MapQuest out of the water, but this adds a whole new dimension of fun.

Janene’s Blog

I installed a copy of WordPress on my wife’s website a couple weeks ago. Since then she’s been thinking a lot about what she wants to blog about. I don’t think she’s arrived at any conclusions, yet, but at least she got the ball rolling today.

Please give a warm blogosphere welcome to my lovely wife over at “Janene’s Blog”:http://www.janeneday.com.

P.S. She isn’t a big fan of Homestar Runner (gasp!), so if you could keep the HR inside jokes to a minimum, she would probably appreciate it. Thanks.

Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2

Firefox 1.0.2 was released about an hour ago. According to “Asa”:http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/007795.html, it’s a “proactive update to fix a bug that makes users vulnerable to a buffer overflow in GIF image processing.”

It probably won’t show up on auto-update for a few days, so if you like being on the leading edge, you should download it from the web. Happy browsing!

Edit @ 4:30pm: A friend here at work noticed the automatic update icon on his Firefox toolbar just now. Looks like they are pushing it today afterall.

Delicious Crazy

If you’re subscribed to my del.icio.us bookmarks feed, I apologize for cluttering up your feedreader this morning. I think I added over 30 bookmarks to my del.icio.us list. Whew!

I just did some spring cleaning in my own feedreader — deleted a bunch of stuff, reorganized my folder hierarchy, etc. — and decided to finally compile a definitive list of the blogs I read. There’s some great stuff in there. Take a moment to peruse “my list of blogs”:http://del.icio.us/joeyday/blog.

A Better Wishlist

Well, smack me up the side of my head with a rubber tuna fish. Jordan over at swirlee.org has found what I think may be “the best way to keep track of a wish list”:http://www.swirlee.org/2005/01/06/a-delicious-wish-list/ using del.icio.us. It’s so devilishly simple I’m not sure why hundreds of people haven’t done it before.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox 1.0 out of the box

After much anticipation, Mozilla Firefox was released today — no longer a “technology preview,” but a full-blown, stable release version. More amazing than that, for the first time I was able to run a flawless update using the new updater!

I couldn’t be more excited about this release. It’s great to be able to whole-heartedly recommend Firefox to friends without having to explain what a technology preview is and answer the inevitable question, “If it’s just a preview, does that mean it’s not stable?”. I’m confident this new release will kick the browser war up to a new level.

Have you rediscovered the web, yet? You have no more excuse. Do it today!
