The Wedding Video

In case you don’t follow my Avocation blog, I thought I would cross-post this here. Our wedding DVDs were delivered last night and I’m pleased to present all four segments here for your viewing pleasure.

The Wedding Video

I feel like this blog has been overrun by wedding video segments, but this should be the last post on that subject. The DVDs were delivered last night and I’m pleased to present all four segments here for your viewing pleasure.

Circles

My cheeks hurt so much from laughing at the new segment of our wedding video I just got from the videographer. I told you there was something good coming down the pipe, and here it is:

The videographer has offered to make *.wmv versions of all the segments, so there should be three others up here in the next couple days.

Mao

I just added a new public page to “my wiki”:http://www.joeyday.net. It’s the rules to my favorite card game, “Mao”:http://www.joeyday.net/index.php/Mao. I played this game with a few friends the other night and thought I’d pull these rules out and dust them off. I’ve had them typed up for a while in a Word document, and thought it would be great to upload them here so others can enjoy the game. Have fun!

Janene’s Graduation

I Made It!

Janene graduated from University of Utah last week with a Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Science. I just uploaded some photos1 of the event to Flickr (you may have noticed them randomly appearing on the sidebar mixed in with our wedding pics). It’s easiest to view them using Flickr’s slick slideshow feature.

Congratulations, Janene. I love you!

  1. Ironically, I’m wearing that same blue shirt and tie I always seem to wear in pictures. Cameras seem to be attracted to that ensemble. I have lots of other shirts, I swear. []

To “An Observer”

First off, thank you for taking the time to “comment”:http://www.joeyday.org/2005/03/29/mormon-literature#comment-361 on my site. I’m sorry your comment wasn’t immediately posted on the site; that probably didn’t seem very nice of me. You chose to comment on a rather old post, and I’ve enabled moderation on everything older than 30 days to prevent blog spamming. Your comment went into a queue where I had to approve it before it showed up. I’m not trying to censor anyone, and to prove it I published your comment.

I’m afraid you may have misinterpreted many of my statements here. If that’s the case, I’m truly sorry. I’d like the opportunity to explain myself and would love to catch up with an old friend, but I don’t want to do so here where everyone can read it (as you said, these are personal and private matters). Unfortunately, you didn’t provide any identification or contact information. If you’d like to discuss these things, please email me again and let me know how we can get in touch. Thanks.

Nudge, Nudge

I’ve installed the excellent “Spread Firefox WordPress plugin”:http://www.martinet.nl/wp-site/spread-firefox-wordpress-plugin and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’ve used it to add a fairly unobtrusive bar across the top of my site (it only appears in Internet Explorer) to alert IE users to the inferiority of their browser. It shouldn’t get in anyone’s way, though I hope it encourages a few folks to switch.

A New Domain

A while ago I was “talking”:http://joeyday.com/2005/02/09/too-many-websites about a new domain name I was excited about acquiring. Little did I know the process would take as long as it did. Apparently, expired domains don’t become publicly available until 75 days after the stated expiration date.

Fortunately, the domain did quietly expire, and, after so much waiting, I’m excited to announce that I have secured the rights to it. You may have already guessed: joeyday.net is now officially mine.

Since I don’t want to start a third blog (can you imagine?), I’ve decided to keep the new site all to myself. I’ve had a locked-down wiki installed here for some time now, and I’ve already moved it to its new location. From time to time I may host a few public pages there, but it will be used primarily for personal notes, uploads, and other private articles.

I’m quite pleased to finally own a completed trifecta of domain names. I can’t help but feel like everyone’s favorite video game hero after beating level 8 and collecting the third and final piece of some kind of talisman of power. Or maybe I’m just mentally unbalanced. Time will tell, I suppose.

New Categories

I’m going to start filing posts under a couple of new category systems, the “five solas”:http://www.joeyday.org/category/five-solas/ and the “doctrines of grace”:http://www.joeyday.org/category/doctrines-of-grace/. I don’t think all my posts will fit under these categories, but the empty categories will help me brainstorm new topics and I think these will serve as positive ways to organize my thoughts.
