LDS Linker is a WordPress plugin I created that changes any Latter-day Saint scripture reference into a hyperlink pointing to the Internet Edition of the LDS Scriptures. It recognizes references whether the book name is written out or shortened using the standard abbreviations.
Here are some examples:
Moro. 10:3–5 is a scripture mastery verse. Other scripture mastery verses include Mosiah 4:30, D&C 130:22–23, and JS-H 1:15–20. I have Articles of Faith 1:1–13 memorized—how ’bout you?
Version 2.0 is a nearly complete rewrite of the plugin. The generated links now point directly to the referenced passage rather than performing a passage search. I also found and squashed a bunch of bugs.
You can download the plugin here:
A big thanks goes out to those who’ve helped me improve the code. Are you using LDS Linker? Please let me know what you think. ![]()
I just added it to my blog. Thanks!
very cool. Thank you. I run a group log, and I seem to be the only one who links to the scriptures. Now it doesn’t matter if anyone does or not because it’s all automagic. This is great. Thanks.
One thing. The plugin doesn’t recognise en dashes use to indicate a range (i.e. D&C 18:15–16 rather than D&C 18:15–16)

That’s embarrassing. I’m a typographical perfectionist myself (at least I try to be) and I should know better than to use hyphens for numerical ranges. A fix for this shouldn’t be difficult. In fact, I can probably make it so that if a user does use hyphens, the plugin automatically changes them to en dashes. I’ll see what I can pull together for you in a day or two here. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Joey,
I would love to have the link open in a new window. Any idea if that functionality could be added?
Matthew, yeah, I should be able to add that as an option. I’m honestly not sure when I’ll have time to do it, but I’ll certainly add it to my list.
